Halloween 2016

Both boys costumes stunk this year,
Kuba was a skunk and Anders was Trump.

Anna and I went as crows.  Easy costume.
A bit of cardboard and all black clothes.  Works for me.

Grandma is 90

My mom turned 90 yesterday and we were there to celebrate with her.  I remember when Anders was born and then when Kuba was born, I felt so lucky that she was alive and could meet them.  And now it's nearly twelve years since we've had the boys and they really do know her well and she them.   The delightful phrase  "Did I tell you I love you today?" originated with her and the boys say this each and every time they see her.  I think that phrase will stay with them forever.   Here she is in all her beauty - red hair and all!

Soccer 2016

Kuba just finished his 2016 soccer season and his team did well.
Anna was the assistant coach this year which was a lot of fun for all of us.
Kuba played defense and his team ended up winning the last 3 games!
Way to go team Portugal!!

Day Off in the Neighborhood

No school on Wednesday so a boatload of kids played for most of the day in the park next door.  I believe at full count there were 10 kids playing a variety of games including the ones I witnessed -Pokemon Go, soccer, tag, and "stuffies."
I decided to make fresh apple doughnuts rolled in cinnamon sugar for the kids- which was the highlight of my baking career.  Who knew it was so easy to make a little doughnut?
Fun as that was, the biggest highlight of my day was the gang of kids who owned the park that day.

Mousy

This is my stuffy Mousy.  I love Mousy so much.  I love him because he's so cute!!!
He's fun to play with.  I have had Mousy since I was in preschool.  That's around 4 years.  He's my favorite stuffy.  I bring him everywhere I go.
I've lost him twice, once in Maine, and once at the soccer field.
I felt really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, sad.  Eagle and Seagull brought him home the first time.  The second time we went to the soccer field at night with flashlights and found him.  I felt so happy when I found him.
I hope I never lose him again!
