Watching the Word Cup and Why I Love Megan Rapinoe

Here we are sitting on the lawn at City Hall Park, along with hundreds of other soccer fans watching the World Cup.  It was so much fun.  It was thrilling to me because I love Megan Rapinoe.
I have to admit, I was late the to the adoration team.  I sort of don't really ever pay any attention to sports or professional teams.  But due to the enormous excitement around the world cup games, I was drawn in.  And then I read a few articles about co-captain, Megan Rapinoe, and that was it.  I was smitten.   I swallowed the bait, full on, hook, line and sinker.
Why?
She's an enormously talented athlete, she's convicted, she's outspoken, she's gay and she's such an inspiration to me.  I am mostly admiring her devotion and her integrity.  I am admiring her commitment to being the best she can be.  I am admiring her courage and bravery as she has taken on Trump and all the haters.  I admire her beauty.  I admire her charisma.   All of this.  She's inspired me to strive to be the best at what I can be the best at.  Not soccer, that's for sure.   But me.  I can strive to be the best me I can be.  That means committing to my self, to self care, to creativity, to my family, to by body, to eating, etc.  This is what I find inspirational about her, that she has me thinking about my life and how I can be the best I can be.  That includes my family and my community.  How do we live to our fullest?  Go for the gold?  Go for the cup?   How do we spend each day productively and passionately?  That's why.  We've only got one life and I want to make it the best one.

Rock of Ages

I took the summer club down to the Rock of Ages quarry.
The largest quarry in North America, I might add.  With the best granite of all, I might also add.
It was phenomenal really.  I want to follow it up with a second trip down to Hope Cemetery to see the granite carvings. We hear they are amazing. Here are some photo's of the quarry, the diamond bit that they use to drill into the granite, the granite bowling alley, and the boys all eating lunch.

Happy Fourth!

We spent the 4th this year watching the Milton Parade, followed by a trip up to Sandy's cabin.
Here's the crew waving their red white and blue!
