Christmas Dinner - When in Rome do as the Romans do.

We had such a fabulous time preparing a delicious and authentic Mexican meal for Christmas dinner.  Peter ordered tamales from a nearby Mexican restaurant and then we set about making sopapillas, guacamole, Mexican rice and more.  Sopapillas are rectangles of fried dough that form puffed little pockets that you fill with a savory mix of beef and green salsa.  You can also drizzle them with honey and powdered sugar for dessert.
 Dinner was absolutely delicious!

It’s a Cowboy Christmas

We’ve been celebrating Christmas in Texas this year, and of course it feels very cowboy-ish.  Claes’s family, our family, and Bjorn and Jane all came down to Pete and Jen’s, not only to celebrate the holidays but also to celebrate Bjorn’s 80th birthday.
It has been just chock full of so many great moments, so many lovely family experiences, so many good meals, and such a good holiday.   Here are some of the highlights.

Our bunch of cowpokes on Christmas Eve.

Holiday Kick Off with Friends

NOTHING beats the first days of the holiday vacation.
This time a gaggle of us headed down to the ice at the Intervale, to celebrate the holiday vacation, play on the ice, roast hot dogs, and just all in all relish the joy of community.
