Summer Love Part 2. Kuba & Clara

Might as well keep documenting the fun of summer love.  We’ve really been lucky to have Clara over more since summer started and Clara’s  home from school.  Kuba and Clara work together at Very Merry - so there’s a lot of joy bubbling up around theater.  But add in miniature golf, dance lessons, playing games and just hangin’ and you are looking at such a fun couple. They are delightfully awesome together. Super lucky is all I have to say!!!!

The Beauty!

Summer has finally begun for all of us, and we kicked off my entry into summer with a walk to Shelburne Farms last night.  It was a stunning evening and there, basking into the evening light is Anna and Kuba. Content to be in one of our favorite places of all, Lone Tree Hill.

Summer Love Part 1 - Anders & Morgan

There's NOTHING more delightful than witnessing firsthand new love- especially when it's your own beloved child.  Anders and Morgan are full into summer mode now and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Sunsets, drive-in movies, fresh haircuts, ticking off items from their very artful summer bucket list, ballroom dance classes, working together at Very Merry.  It's all been so lovely, and I am beyond grateful to be a trusted witness to this happy romance.

Academic Award

So proud of Kuba for receiving an academic award for
outstanding leadership in the BHS drama program.

Five Stars

Fresh paint and five new stars above the door.

Nest

These beauties are outside the window of Anna's office.
There was a clutch of eggs last year, and again now.
Four beautiful eggs.
I will keep posting as they grow and leave the nest.

A Poem for the Robins
inspired by Mary Oliver

I do not live happily or comfortably
with the cleverness of our times.
The talk is all about elections and convictions,
the news is all about the Israel-Hamas war.
This morning, on the windowsill,
I came upon a robin's nest.
It held four warm, bright, blue eggs.
I photographed them.
Then went away softly,
having saw something so beautiful
it sparked my gratitude.
