Kuba has befriended a squirrel at school.

It is so tame it eats out of his hand.
He had me bring him to school on the weekend just to show him to me.

There's something magical about a wild animal acting so domestic.

 

Why We Collect Rocks

The boys have been thoroughly entertained by these new paint pens - taking oodles of rocks collected from a variety of places and vacations and turning them into art.   It's been a bit of an addiction lately - and even I've gotten into it.   The idea is that the boys might have a rock art sale in the neighborhood.  Let's see if that really happens.  They seem rather attached.

Time to Make the Doughnuts

It was a fine Sunday morning.

Anna awoke early and decided to make some doughnuts.

Her first time ever.

Anders had a sleepover with his friend Charlie - 

so we had an added guest to share the doughnuts with.

I woke up and was really thrilled to help.

My contribution was to make the glaze and doughnut toppings.

We had cinnamon sugar, glaze, glaze with powder sugar, and glaze with bacon.  

The doughnuts were a big hit!

Calder and Us

  We spent the day in Montreal yesterday and visited the Museum of Fine Arts to see the Alexander Calder exhibit.  It was really fun to see the exhibit and be together in an art museum.  I forgot how much fun it is to go to a big museum with the boys.
