Art in the Time of Corona Part III

We decided to do a remake of Wayne Thiebaud's painting - Candies.
All of us colored sheets on 16 rolls of toilet paper.
Then we photographed it.
It's amazing.

Art in the time of Corona Part II

We had a pizza and painting party the other night with 2 other families.
All done on Zoom.  We had 2 ipads running so we were hooked up and online.
Then we ate pizza and we painted.
Our family painted 4 square pieces for an art show coming up.
The theme was water.
Here we are!

The Ants are Coming One by One- Hurrah!

Anders wants to be an ant keeper.  He's been watching videos on a channel called, Ants Canada, and has decided this hobby is for him.  He's slowly gathering up what he needs, including building an inner terrarium and ant habitat -- using old coca-cola bottles and a lot of tubing.  He's waiting on some necessary things to come in the mail and then he is getting a small starter ant colony - with a queen.   Stay tuned for more.  This is a view of the beginning of his project.

Coronavirus Part III - Keeping Busy

Today was the 5th Sunday of the corona virus lock-down.  The 1st Sunday of our Spring break.  We worked hard all day yesterday, cleaning out our barn, setting up our barn studio, and doing yard work at home - all day - just us.  We needed a play day.  And play we did.  We rode our bikes and our picnic down to the Intervale.  It was really fun to get out.  And - we saw about 200 other people who had the same idea.  So much for the stay at home orders!

Art in the Time of Corona Part I

Kuba's art assignment for the week was to make a paper bag mask - with extra points for a photo of the whole family wearing a paper bag on their heads.  As the art teacher who assigned this, of course I had to make my own.  And there you have it - our gorgeous brown paper bag headed family.
