60 Love

It all started at the Floating bridge.

The four of us on our way south, stopped to swim and jumped together 

and off.  To say it was divine is an understatement. 

This was followed by a feast of authentic Polish food.
Kielbasa, sauerkraut, pierogi, and golabki.  

All made by a 5 star Polish chef who left Poland for NY City 

and left NY City for Vermont.  

On to our first night at a Hotel

Brattleboro was the start.

We followed this up with a variety of stops at different studios -

seeking an artist to paint the boys.

Such an amazing birthday experience.

 

 

Surprise, Matey!

Friends surprised me for a little pirate birthday party in honor of my 6oth. 

It was so lovely and sweet and surprising!

 

BUCKET LIST

I took the boys to an abandoned granite quarry yesterday.  Trying to tick something off my bucket list, trying to do something adventurous with them.  We drove to this quarry in Dorset Vermont.  It was beautiful and of course there were lots of other people swimming and jumping.  I was slightly anxious - knowing that so many things can happen in water.  But they jumped, had fun, and I tried to relax.   Here are a few snapshots from the afternoon.  

I'm Making Pies

 

Ever since I was given the mulberries I've been making pies.

Mulberry, blueberry, sour cherry, strawberry, blackberry, apple/blackberry and more.

I am determined to master the pie crust, my most favorite part of the pie.

So far, so good.  The boys love the pies - as do I.

Anna - who admittedly is not a pie lover, still eats them up.

We had a wonderful lobster/steak dinner on the fourth of July with my mom, Anna's mom, 

Dave, and the boys.  Highlight - TONS OF SPARKLERS!  

Cherry Tree

We have a cherry tree.  A very sad cherry tree.  Though despite it's unhappiness it did manage to put out a lot of cherries.   Anna climbed a ladder to pick them and then made both saft and cherry fruit leather.  If you look at the tree, the top has no growth, some of the branches have no growth.  We know something is making the tree very unhappy - but aren't sure what it is.   We are guessing the roots are having trouble getting nourishment, as it's planted near to where there used to be a driveway. Perhaps the ground is too compacted?  The poor tree has been shooting up so high to get to the light, and it has such giant spaces between the branches.  We are going to take down a ton of tree and hopefully get some help from a tree doctor to figure out what ails her.  In the meantime she was generous enough to give us lots of cherries. 

  

Thea on the Boat

We walked Thea to the boat to try and see how she would do.

She loved the dock.

She easily got on and off the boat.

She easily went down below.
Soon we will try again, but this time with a life jacket 

and the engine on and put-putting into the harbor.
