Bomb Cyclone?

Well, well, well.  It seems we haven't been cold enough the last week with temperatures way below zero.  Nope, winter Storm Grayson will affect the entire East Coast in the next day or two, and we are facing something called a bomb cyclone.  The temperatures will drop even lower dipping close to minus forty.
A bomb cyclone is essentially a winter hurricane, wherein snow and ice take the place of rain. The conditions necessary to generate such a monster storm involve extreme drops in already-low air pressure, coupled with cold air colliding with a warm air system. Grayson was built from these components, as frigid cold air has escaped from the Arctic.

This winter sure is cold.
Thank god for home and heat and each other.
