St. Patty's Day Greens

The boys had 2 pair of green socks to wear for St. Patrick's Day.
They decided to wear one of each and tried to make it look like they wore
a full pair ...but it's a trick!  Kuba has his legs crossed and is standing between Anders legs.
Tricksters!  Leprechaun's!

Vacation Week: Mt. Sutton Musings

We took a short trip up to Canada at the tail end of the vacation.
On Saturday we went with our friends, the Chayer-Duke family.
We spent the first full day just hanging around our rental because of a virus
that took over their family.  So lying low was what we did.  The next day, Anna and the boys took to the ski mountain with Sue and Ellis. The boys haven't skied together in a few years -
which made for a nice day for them.  Here they are going up,
and then at the bottom of the mountain.

Vacation Week: Frozen Lake Musings

I heard that the lake was frozen so I was up for an adventure today.
So I took Kuba, Sam, Gus and Thea, and we walked out onto Shelburne Bay.
It was solid.  Assorted people were out there.  Ice fishermen, folks strolling, and a crew of men that were trying to retrieve parts from a burnt Tesla.  Just days ago, someone drove it onto the ice and it exploded and burnt to a crisp.  This added a bit of excitement to the walk.
The boys played with giant icicles along the shore line and then we scrambled up
the ridiculously icy embankment and hiked a snowy trail.
On the way back, the boys played keep away with Thea and her rubber toy.
It was fun.  All of it was fun.  So fun.
But the most fun of all was watching and listening to the boys sing, talk,
break icicles, and just be boys together on the frozen ice.

Vacation Week: Aquarium Musings

Day two of our trip to Cambridge found us in the New England Aquarium.
What is it about aquariums that kids love soooooo much?
The most favorite part for Kuba was touching the stingrays.
Anders, searching the big tank.
Me, the octopus that uncurled its spiraled tentacle in such a slow way.
Anna, she was just happy that the kids were so happy.

Vacation Week: Museum Musings Part II

Anna had work in the Boston area, so we climbed aboard her trip and spent two days in Cambridge.
We stayed with our friend Susan, and the boys and I tooled around Cambridge,
going to the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Science.
It was a surprising treat and we spent hours there perusing their vast collection.
SO many animals, bugs, birds, rocks!
