Anna and I make Valentine's for each other on Valentine's day. I've been making mine in a 5x5 inch vintage reel to reel box. It's fun to design a valentine in a box. I think I am up to 18 years of different boxed valentine's. Anna has started making a valentine for me in the shape of a house. She started this five years ago. Each year has been unique; a house made of paper, clay, black walnut, wire. This year ours were both based on books. How serendipitous. Anna made me a small house cut from an encyclopedia, and mine was a fold out explosion book filled with photos from our hikes together. I included a small hiking poem along with the photos. We are hoping our traditions inspire the boys for later in their life. There's nothing more sentimental and romantic than an artful loving valentine. Here are just a sample of them.
