We are sisters
Sandy and me
Four years apart
Anders and Kuba are three years apart
Brothers
We are each so lucky to have someone we love so much in our lives.
Siblings
Now that my mom has passed away, I realize even more,
how important my sister is to me.
Like an anchor
Like a lighthouse
Like a touchstone
Trust at the center
I trust my sister and I rely on her.
It's been 62 years that we've been together. I hope that my boys continue to nurture their relationship, that they look beyond the minor arguments, the disagreements, the space and time over the course of a life. This sibling relationship is more powerful than a friendship, freer than a spouse, different than a mentor, and more honest than a parent. It's the longest relationship you'll have. It's the person who knows you across time, across change, across the bumpy landscape. It's the person who loves you deeply and stays, who cheers you on, who roots for your happiness, who offers solace when you need it most. It's the person who loves your children like their own, and who reminds you of what is true and good about you. It's also the person who holds up the mirror for you and asks you to tell the truth, so you'll grow.
All the while with love and love and even more love.
We've been taking a lot of photographs, the two of us.
Why? Because we enjoy seeing ourselves together.
We are growing older and there is solace here.
Why? Because we enjoy seeing ourselves together.
We are growing older and there is solace here.
Siblings
Forever
