Bedtime Conversation

We were talking about the new baby tonight, Anders and me.

It was a sweet conversation about what life would be like with a little baby brother.

Anders asked,

"Is he going to have a face?"

I said yes.

"Is he going to have a body?"

I said yes.

"Is he going to have foots like mine?"

Yes, he is.

Silence.   And then,

"Okay."

I can't imagine loving another baby as much as I adore this little boy.  Though I am certain I am soon to learn the lesson about the power of love.  As I type this, I can hear Anders over the baby monitor, quietly calling me in his sleepy little voice, "Mema, Mema, Mommy."

And now a little bit later, silence.
All is well in our house.  Anders is asleep, Anna is at a Greg Brown Concert, and I am alone, quiet and grateful.
Awaiting the soon arrival of our second son, with his face, body and foots.
