Kuba has the great luck of being friends with Oliver, a boy whose dad is somewhat of a famous cartoonist. His name is James Kochalka. He was Vermont's first Cartoon Laureate. He has a series of books about a little ghost named Johnny Boo. Each morning for the past 2 years (that Kuba has been in Oliver's class) at school, James would draw a Johnny Boo cartoon on the white board. He might have been doing this since Oliver was in kindergarten, but Kuba wasn't in the same class as Oliver until 4th and 5th grade, so he was a recipient of these adorable morning Johnny Boo messages only for 2 years. SO COOL. So lucky. Here's just a sample of them, including the final one on graduation day. I wish we had them all!
